OUR MISSION:

To provide educational and creative opportunities for children; allowing them to grow spiritually, intellectually, socially and physically while building self-esteem and Christian character.

Sonshine Preschool is one of the most recognized and oldest preschool programs in Northern Kentucky.  We are currently enrolling children 2, 3, and 4 years of age.

The Sonshine Preschool's curriculum comprises of visual arts, dramatic art, gross motor development, movement and music, and the key standards as set by the Commonwealth of Kentucky for children ages birth through 4 years.

SCHEDULE and TIMES

Sonshine Preschool is in session 32 weeks per year.  We observe snow days whenever the Kenton County public schools close for inclement weather.

Classes are in session from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. During September, our two-year old classes have an abbreviated schedule, and dismiss at noon.

MUSIC CLASSES

Sonshine Preschool teaches the Musikgarten's curiculum.  This curriculum incorporates Bible stories with songs, instruments and dance.

Musikgarten is a music and movement program that engages children in age-appropriate activities designed to further their intellectual, artistic and spirtitual growth.  Students learn songs, rhythm and tonal patterns, and stories through music and movement.  It is an excellent beginning to a musical education, and lays a foundation for musical literacy, a lifetime of musical enjoyment, and beginning understandings of Biblical stories.

ART EXPRESS

The process is more important than the product.  This statement bests describes the motto in our art enrichment class - Art Express. Each student will participate within an Art Express class during his/her day.  One of the joys of exposing young children to art is that they can learn from visual and tactile experiences well before they can read.  A process of art appreciation educates and speaks to the smallest students.  Young children have a natural enthusiasm for art. 

The Sonshine Preschool strives to present each student the opportunity to nurture their natural enthusiasm.
