The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
All women in the church are invited to attend. You may join UMW directly or join a women's Circle and you are automatically a UMW member. A General Meeting for all members is held the 1st Wednesday of each month.
The Circles provide a great small group opportunity while the General Meetings allow you to get to know many women in the church and be active in ministries on a larger scale. OUR CIRCLES
Deborah Circle
Age range: mixed (30-50) Meeting Date, Time, Place: 1st Monday of each month, 7:00 p.m. at church. No July or August meetings. Child Care: Yes, upon request. Programs: Varied - usually a book study or guest speaker. Mission Projects: Quarterly projects - Women's Crisis Center, Souper Bowl Sunday, Christian Children's Camp in West Virginia and Christmas gifts for City Heights children to name a few.
Joanna Circle
Age range: 30's and 40's, most with young children Meeting Date, Time, Place: 2nd Tuesday of each month, 7:00 p.m. at church. Child Care: Yes Programs: Monthly program on a variety of materials. Mission Projects: Yearly fundraiser to benefit missions and the Jeffrey Chase Library at Children's Hospital. Adopted a girl's cottage at the United Methodist Home for Children and Youth
Mary-Martha Circle
Age range: 60 - 90 Meeting Date, Time, Place: 2nd Monday of each month, 9:30 a.m. at church - summer outing in June or July and a Christmas party. Child Care: No Programs: Given by members who choose their topics or invite outside speakers. Mission Projects:United Ministries
Phoebe Circle
Age range: 20's - 30's Meeting Date, Time, Place: 1st Monday of each month, 7:00 p.m. in member's homes and occasional meetings at church. Child Care: Yes, upon request. Programs: A book or other study every meeting. Mission Projects: Mentoring at Holly Hill Girls Home, Holy Boldness and other mission areas.
Sarah Circle
Age range: 60 up Meeting Date, Time, Place: 2nd Tuesday of each month, 9:30 a.m. at the church. Child Care: No Programs: Varied programs and speakers - short trip in May. Mission Projects: Last Monday of each month, furnish desserts to Parish Kitchen, each month cares for a family of 4 (Mother and three children) with monthly needs and gifts, once a year provide refreshments for international students at N.K.U., assist with mailings at Redwood School and the Northern Kentucky Children's Home.
Susanna Circle
Age range: Early 40's to early 60's Meeting Date, Time, Place: 3rd Thursday of each month, 7:00 p.m. - meeting in homes or at church. Child Care: No Programs: Monthly program on a variety of topics. Mission Projects: Monthly gifts to a variety of needs, Immanuel Service Project donations, support for Fairhaven Rescue Mission, missionary support, etc. The circle also supports and assists Phoebe Circle in their ministry at Holly Hill Girls Home.
