We encourage all who will,
to use their musical gifts to the glory of God.
Choral Ensembles
Chancel Choir
Rehearses on Thursdays, 7:30 to 9:00 p.m.
Lakeside campus
The Chancel Choir, a choir for adults and older youth, leads our traditional worship services in the sanctuary of the Lakeside Park campus at 9:30 and 11:00 on Sunday mornings, and at special services throughout the year. This SATB choir is a non-auditioned group that enjoys a wide variety of music styles and has an extensive repertoire of sacred music. The choir sings a capella occasionally, but is usually accompanied on the Wicks pipe organ or the Yamaha grand piano. While singing choral music and serving God with their voices are two of the primary reasons people join this choir, the fellowship, trust and care provided by our prayer time at the end of rehearsals has become a reason that people stay. If God has gifted us with music, we believe He expects us to give it back! There's room for you in the choir. For more information, contact Sue Nimmo, the choir's director.
Evangel
Rehearses 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, 7:30 to 9:00 p.m.
Lakeside campus
Evangel, our women’s ensemble, a non-auditioned group, sings three and four part arrangements of sacred music for sanctuary worship approximately once per month. This two-year-old ensemble is composed of adult women who enjoy good music in a setting of great warmth and fellowship. Joanne Brumm is Evangel's founder and director. Contact her for more information.
Youth Choir
Rehearses Sundays, 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.
Lakeside campus
Our newest choral ensemble, the Youth Choir, actually rehearses in two sections. High school singers rehearse from 5:00 until 5:45 on Sunday evenings. The middle school singers rehearse from 5:45 until 6:30. Many of the singers also rehearse with a handbell choir on Sundays, as the practices are designed to allow youth to both sing and ring. This accomplished choral ensemble is new this year, but has already participated in a youth choir festival in Ohio. These high-energy youth sing to worship God, to enjoy music and for the joy of being together. Joanne Brumm is the director and information contact.

Joyful Noise
Rehearses Wednesdays, 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Lakeside campus
Older elementary students in grades 2-5 learn musical and vocal fundamentals, hymns of the church and spiritual lessons at weekly rehearsals. This choir leads the Christmas Eve service for families, sings anthems for traditional worship in the sanctuary services and presents large-scale musicals as tools to teach the congregation about God's love and care. Currently, they are rehearsing their Spring production, "Esther-ordinary Faith", to be presented in sanctuary services on April 30. Both Sue and Joanne work with this choir. Contact either of them for more specifics.

Kids’ Praise
Rehearses Wednesdays, 5:00 to 5:30 p.m.
Lakeside campus
Kids’ Praise is for children in kindergarten and first grades. Songs, stories, games and crafts teach music and spiritual fundamentals to these young singers. Kids' Praise has a large role in the Family Christmas Eve service, but is primarily a teaching choir. They sing for worship a few times each year. Contact the director, Joanne Brumm, for more information.
Praise Teams
Praise Team for Contemorary (Lakeside) and Grace
Rehearsal Times Vary
Usually at the Lakeside Campus
This Praise Team accompanies our multi-sensory worship services on the Grace campus, and Xalt, in Wesley Hall on the Lakeside Park campus. The team incorporates instruments such as drums, guitars, keyboard and other percussion. They perform, with vocalists, a variety of musical styles. This team is actively looking for more musicians to join them, as they are currently responsible for two services in two different locations. If you are interested, please contact Teresa Turpin, music associate.
Youth Praise Band
Rehearses Tuesdays 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Lakeside campus
This praise ensemble for youth works faithfully to provide musical leadership for the Sunday evening Youth Explosion worship times, as well as sharing the gift of music and praise at other local functions, and leading worship services at various offsite opportunities. Will Campbell is the adult leader of this ministry. Contact our youth pastor, Susan Eaton, for more information.

These ensembles play five octaves of Malmark handbells and three octaves of handchimes. Musical meditations are provided for Sunday worship, festivals, seasonal services and concerts. All of the bell choirs rehearse weekly during the school year, and for special events during the summer. Youth choirs meet just before Youth Explosion gatherings on Sunday evenings, and are scheduled so that our young musicians can both ring and sing in the Youth Choir. The Chancel Bells are our most experienced bell choir, and have been ringing together for almost twenty years. They have performed in concert for a five state gathering of handbell directors through the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, and act as host choir for an Advent season community invitational concert. For information about any of our handbell choirs or how you can learn to ring, contact Joanne Brumm.
Other Music Opportunities
Classical musicians are often called upon to volunteer their gifts on an as-needed basis to accompany large choral works, provide meditations or service music. These soloists and ensembles rehearse when called upon. Notify Joanne Brumm in the music office, if you are available.
On occasion, specialized skills are called for. These ladies of the Marching Kazoo Band entertained at halftime of the church picnic Youth vs. Parents Football Game. Field Commander Jonna Ladenburger led a lively show featuring baton twirlers (one with fire!), color guard flag wavers and our most excellent marching kazoo unit. No United Methodists were harmed in the production of this show.
