Are you new to the journey?
Some people consider themselves to be a "Christian" and a faithful "church member" their entire lives.  Yet, they have never taken the first step toward becoming a "fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ." It is our passionate desire at Immanuel that every person in the Greater Cincinnati area would choose to follow Jesus.

Jesus taught something that we call the Great Commandment. Basicially the Great Commandment says:

LOVE GOD . . . LOVE OTHERS.

Perhaps you are visiting this page because you've decided to take the first step toward Jesus. If so, here's some advice on how to begin the journey:

  • Tell someone about your decision to take a new direction in your life (you can even use the Connect Card found in all Immanuel worship venues to make your first public confession of faith in Jesus Christ.)
  • Begin to spend time each day with Jesus doing the following:
Pray: Prayer is really about talking to Jesus and then listening to him.

Bible Reading: You may want to begin by reading one or more of books that tell us about the life of Jesus. These books are entitled: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Many scholars suggest reading the book of John, first. You will need to find a good study Bible to assist you in your reading. The Life-Application Study Bible is an excellent choice and is available at most bookstores. Suggested translations (versions) include the following: The New Living Translation, The New Revised Standard Version; The New International Version; The Message - a contemporary paraphrase of God's Word.

Devotional Guide: Pick up a copy of "The Upper Room" on any of our campuses. This small devotional guide has helped believers take their first steps toward Jesus. The guide is distributed to virtually every corner of the globe.

Group: Find a group that will support you as you grow.

Public Worship
: Weekly public worship is essential for your growth.

Private Worship: Listen to music that feeds your soul.
  • Seek guidance from an Immanuel Pastor.
  • If you have not already done so, attend an I-Connect and learn about the call to become a church member and what it means to join "The Revolution of the Towel."
  • Relax and enjoy the journey. Following Jesus is not about going someplace. Instead, it's about going everywhere with Jesus.
Finally, don't be afraid to ask one of your Pastor's for assistance.
